Last year when I did an analysis of a typical bathroom remodeling costs in Los Angeles, CA, I got mixed numbers. Since then, costs are becoming more concrete and unlicensed handymen are slowly being removed from the equation. Lets dive right in and see what homeowners can expect to get and at what costs.


Bathroom Tiling Services 

Bathroom tiling has become a big part of bathroom remodeling and trends are taking local homeowners to tile the entire bathroom from floor to the end of each wall. This adds an expense to homeowners as past designs were mixed between tile and paint. Today its all tile and it can get expensive. On average costs for tiles have increased too. $2.9 -$6 a sqft is an average for tiles and its just the material. Last year most homeowners could get affordable tiles $2.5 - $4.5 depending on the design and material durability.

Tubs Are Being Replaced

No most people are not stopping their regularly routines. Its becoming more difficult to spend so much time in the tub. Homeowners with tubs are slowly replacing it with shower enclosures and the reason is very obvious. Most people rarely have time to take so much time out of a busy day to soak in a tub. Most people spend on average 15 min a day bathing in Los Angeles. A tub just takes too much space and rarely is used to maximize its benefits. So, the trends speak for themselves. Homeowners are removing the tub and redoing the area with a free standing shower enclosure. Vanity and Storage 

If you are starting off your bathroom remodeling without having a common theme, we recommend hiring a designer. Vanities are one of the best and most customized trends we noticed in the late 2016 - early 2017. They can be purchased at many hardware stores, Home Depot, Lowes, and specialty remodeling stores across LA.  Cannot even come up with a range because each place and type come in different costs.
